Holiday Builders Celebrates 40 Years
Holiday Builders was established in Melbourne, Florida on April 23, 1983 with the first home sold in Palm Bay, Florida. Holiday Builders was started by two brothers who besides having a passion for homebuilding – loved classic cars. Therefore, they named Holiday Builders after a classic – the Oldsmobile Holiday. The growth of the company led to the employees purchasing it in 1999 making Holiday Builders the first employee-owned homebuilder in the United States.
Holiday Builders currently builds new homes in 20 cities in Florida and one city in Coastal Alabama. Over the years, Holiday Builders expanded into Ohio, South Carolina and Texas. About six years ago, the company closed all divisions except in Florida and Coastal Alabama. 40 years is a long run for a homebuilder. Holiday attributes its longevity of many factors, one of which is strong relationships with trades and vendors. Another source of strength is being an employee-owned company. Employees in all departments are incentivized to support the greater mission of providing a quality-built home of lasting value. Furthermore, Holiday Builders provides a family-first culture, offers education opportunities, health insurance and 401K benefits. Holiday Builders is a good company – named among the “101 Best Employers” and the “50 Best Companies to Work For”.
Holiday Builders has been recognized in the Top 100 Builders several times during its history. Currently, Holiday Builders ranks 25th in the Top 100 by Executive Homebuilder. The company has received numerous awards from Home Builders and Contractor Associations, as well as earning JD Power and Associates “Highest Quality” in new home building.
