Holiday Builders volunteer day in Port St Lucie

New Homes, Birthdays and Uber Drivers

Holiday Builders will celebrate its 41st birthday, or 41st anniversary in business next week. However one elects to title it, April 23rd is the official day. Since that fateful day in 1983 we’ve built more than 40,000 new homes. Homebuilding is a wonderful business. We get to be part of people’s journey to home ownership. Employees feel a pride of ownership thanks to our employee-owned status. Holiday Builders became the first employee-owned homebuilder in the United States when the employees bought the company in 1999.

Our corporate office is located in Melbourne, Florida. We have satelite offices in Port St Lucie, Cape Coral, Davenport, Lecanto and Pensacola, We build single-family homes in 24 cities – 23 in Florida and one in Coastal Alabama and are actively developing new communities in additional markets. We’ve stayed true to our mission – Holiday Builders pledges to provide each customer with a pleasurable building experience and a quality-built home of lasting value for the best possible price. Holiday Builders builds new homes generally priced between $250,000 to $600,000. Through Coastal Loans, a mortgage joint venture, and subsidiary HB Title, Holiday Builders provides mortgage financing and title services for its homebuyers.

Last week, our blogger (that’s me) had car issues. I took my car to the shop and took an Uber home and back to the car shop later that day. On the ride to pick up my car, I got a got a call from my boss. While she and I were talking I said, “Holiday Builders” at one point which made my Uber drivers’ head spin. I ended my call and he said, “My girl and I are getting ready to close on a Foxtail in Palm Bay.” He explained that they started out intent on purchasing one of our new Inspire collection homes – a smaller footprint home. Eventually they decided to go with the Foxtail – part of our Value collection.

He went on to tell me that Zach, his salesperson, helped them switch to a different floorplan. He said Roli, his loan officer at Coastal Loans, was right there when he had financial questions. And then he told me how he should be getting a closing date soon. I could hear the excitement in his voice. I also sensed the anxiousness he felt, concerned that everything would get done before closing. It’s surely understandable. A home purchase is significant.

It felt good to reassure my Uber driver that from my experience as a 7-year employee at Holiday Builders, we build a quality built home. We care about the customer experience and work hard to make it great. Our employees feel a sense of pride and ownership. We have long-term relationships with trades and vendors. We are a mid-size builder with not quite 300 employees scattered throughout our footprint. In our corporate office, where we handle customer relations, our management team is fully accessible and involved. We contribute to the communities in which we build by sponsoring school sports programs and donating to local non-profits.

The photo above was taken during our 40th anniversary when we celebrated by volunteering in our communities. This is our team in the Pandhandle region participating in beach clean up. Several of our employees own Holiday Builders’ homes. We’re good people and my Uber driver was getting a well-built home. Holiday Builders’ 41 years is a corporate birthday this blogger will proudly celebrate. Visit HolidayBuilders.com to learn more about floorplans, pricing and locations.
