Okeechobee is a quiet, growing small town in the heart of south Florida. At its center is Lake Okeechobee – the largest freshwater lake in Florida and the second largest in the contiguous United States. The local economy is centered around agriculture, cattle ranching and citrus farming. Okeechobee provides an affordable housing location for workers in St Lucie or Palm Beach Counties where land prices are much higher. Commuting is easy thanks to the Beeline Highway and US 70/Okeechobee Road.
