Mexico Beach – Take Me Away!
In last week’s blog we talked about our visit to Lake Merial in Panama City. This week, we’re going to excessively gush about Mexico Beach, and specifically Salt Creek at Mexico Beach. This is part two of the “Holiday Builder’s Marketing Department goes to Bay County” travel report.
Picture this, four women in a very large SUV, drive 425 miles northwest one day. In the late afternoon, they turn onto Highway 98 in Mexico Beach, Florida. They gaze out the car windows to their left and jaws drop. Turquoise waters, white sand and lots of it, and just a few people on the beach. Is this paradise?
We keep driving, and across the highway, our hungry eyes spy five pretty homes – one blue, one green, one gold, one yellow, and one gray. We pulled in for a closer look, driving on the newly paved roads in this brand new “just getting started” community. Hello Salt Creek at Mexico Beach!
As we walked through the different homes, I think we were each picking out the one we’d like to live in. The idea of riding a bike literally across a highway, to the beach, seemed like a good way to do life. Speaking of beach access, its not directly across the street but it’s not quite a mile away. There are several places to access the beach in Mexico Beach. This is a small beach town so you won’t find giant parking lots. Mexico Beach has been a tourist destination for a long time, but one that was a bit more under the radar. Vacationers in Mexico Beach are return visitors – the “if you know, you know” type.
Mexico Beach is rebuilding after Hurricane Michael in 2018. To that end, new housing is welcome here. It’s a bright sign of rebirth and growth. Tyndall Air Force Base is nearby and there’s been a lot of investment rebuilding the base. Grocery shopping is in nearby Port St Joe approximately 11 miles away. Locally there are mom and pop shops. We were a hungry crew after our day of driving and dreaming of life by Gulf Waters, so we opted to grab pub food at the local brewery.
Holiday Builders is building Value homes in Salt Creek at Mexico Beach. But the over the top beach vibe in Mexico Beach, called on us to make some changes in our exterior color schemes. But that’s not all. These homes are “enhanced” Value Collection floorplans meaning that instead of vinyl flooring, it is tile. And instead of a standard laminate countertop, the countertops are Quartz.
The five Value Collection plans featured in Salt Creek at Mexico Beach offer 1,516 sf to 2.062 sf of living space, with three to four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. Location, location, location can’t be ignored when it comes to this community and the value of these homes, currently listed in the high $300’s and low $400’s.
Visit HolidayBuilders.com to see more detail on the various floorplans. Get creative using our floorplan “designer” where you can place all your furniture on a plan and explore how different structural options appear. After you brainstorm your dream home, you can download your plan. Try it!
