Going Coastal in Mexico Beach

Salt Creek at Mexico Beach is a new master-planned community in Mexico Beach. This a quaint coastal town on the northwest Florida coast has maintained it’s small town charm over the years. The city, incorporated in 1967, was formed largely due to the completion of Highway 98 in the 1930’s and the construction of Tyndall Field in 1941. Service men and women enjoyed the beautiful white sand beaches during training in World War II. The town grew steadily in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Sport fishing was and is a great attraction. More than 1,000 patch reefs established by the Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association, draw countless species, fish and other sea life. These reefs make the area a popular spot for salt-water anglers. The city takes care in protecting the beachfront from commercial development. “Mom and Pop” shops dot the local landscape in this family-friendly town.

The 554-acre master-planned community is on the edge of Bay County, at the west end of Mexico Beach near U.S. Hwy 98 and the public boat ramp. Tyndall Air Force Base is 12 miles away making Salt Creek at Mexico Beach a great location for military families.
